Matt has extensive experience in matters of trademark, copyright, Internet, and software law. He has represented clients in the fields of software, scientific instrumentation, online social networking, and web design and development. In addition, Matt regularly counsels clients in the use, adoption, and enforcement of trademarks in the United States and abroad, and has successfully negotiated favorable settlements in copyright and trademark infringement matters.
Matt graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in Communications, and received his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center, one of the nation’s leading intellectual property law schools. Prior to receiving his law degree, Matt spent many years as a support specialist at Cakewalk Music Software. While attending Pierce Law, Matt worked as law clerk with the Entertainment Software Association in Washington, D.C., and with the Media and Entertainment practice group at Fish & Richardson, P.C., in Boston, Massachusetts.
Matt is admitted to the Massachusetts State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A., the International Trademark Association and the Boston Bar Association. Matt also serves on the Boards of Governors of University of New Hampshire radio station, WUNH 91.3FM, and on the Executive Board of The New Hampshire Theatre Project.
